Monarch Family Services

Monarch Family Services (MFS) strives to compassionately and professionally deliver value-added services to improve the lives of children and strengthen families. Because we recognize every child and family travel different and unique paths in their journey toward wholeness and empowerment, our agency is family-focused and provides integrated and comprehensive services across the family services continuum.

The organization was established in February 2014 and has continued to work diligently to serve as a catalyst of positive and sustainable change in the lives of children and families. Our philosophy is that children thrive best when they can remain with their family of origin (ecosystems).
In 2020, Monarch Family Services achieved international accreditation from Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for kinship services. The agency has the following programs for children and families: Prevention Services, Preservation/Reunification Services, Kinship Home Licensing & Treatment Program, and Post Permanency Support. 

The Founder and CEO, Dr. Valerie D. Jackson, serves in the role of principal investigator of the kinship family research study being conducted by the agency. In further, Dr. Jackson holds a doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology and has over 25 years of experience in working with children in care. Additionally, Dr. Jackson (is well connected to the community and with partnering organizations locally and nationally. She serves as a board member for Julia C. Hester House and Texas Alliance of Child and Family Services. She is a committee member of Coalition of Child Serving Sectors and Relative as Parents Coalition. Dr, Jackson also serves as a member of University of St. Thomas Institutional Review Board, Texas Psychological Association, American Psychological Association, Region 6 CPS Service Provider Group, and national organizations, Kinship America and Gift of Adoption.
