Carrying Hope

More Info:

Carrying Hope is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by foster parents and advocates who were tired of seeing foster children arrive to their doorsteps with nothing. We work directly with CPS and with child-placement agencies in Central Texas to distribute our Hope Packs, which are filled with everything a child needs during his or her first 48 hours in foster care. Since we formed in July 2016, we have distributed more than 2,000 Hope Packs to children entering foster care in Region 7. Our volunteers consist of both adults and children, and children are welcome to participate in all of our volunteer opportunities, from making Hope Packs to stuffing toiletry kits. Please check our website and Facebook page for more information and upcoming volunteer opportunities — we’d love to see you soon!

  • “…fostering is about more than kids.  It's about caring for the biological family and having compassion for their circumstances.”

  • “It's hard work but immensely rewarding. Fostering is the best thing I'm ever going to do in my life.”

  • “We need people that are willing to go the extra mile. Just having someone that we can call and talk to when we are having a bad day or someone just to have as an emergency contact.”

  • “The growth that has happened in the six weeks we've had the kids is huge. It motivates us to keep going.”
