Foster Care Babysitting Certification Training

Manchaca Baptist Church

Fostering Hope Austin is a nonprofit organization that is committed to building stronger foster and adoptive families through training, mentoring, and church ministry development.

Babysitting training to qualify for certification will be available on Saturday, August 24.

Attend one training and be certified with multiple agencies to babysit for foster families.

Registration is $20. Lunch will be provided.

4th Annual Elgin Community Cookout

Veterans Memorial Park

Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church and other Community Churches are Hosting the 4th Annual Community Cookout in Elgin

It’s a free, family-friendly event although children must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Bingo Games! Water Activites! Food! and an opportunity to stop by Foster Community table to learn more about becoming a foster/adoptive parent or a volunteer to support foster/adoptive families.

The only thing better than having a FREE cookout? Not cleaning up! Come hungry to the Community Cookout sponsored by area churches! We’ll be cooking up some of our BBQ with classic sides and have some fun activities for the little kids and the grown ones! So bring your lawn chairs, Facebook friends you don’t really know, your awkward 4th cousins, your weird co-workers, your kids’ teachers, and your goldfish, because ALL ARE WELCOME.

Matching families with support through partnerships between churches, child welfare agencies, and community resources. This group is a faith-based initiative seeking cultural and denominational diversity to improve relationships between churches and organizations in a collaborative effort to support children and sustain families. The Care Portal is a tool we utilize to better connect us with our partners to serve families in our community.

Stronger Austin Day is a FREE FAMILY FRIENDLY event is open to all. There will be free group exercise classes (Zumba and Mixxed Fit), basketball, games, a bouncy house, face painting, cooking class demos, health screenings, bike rodeo, raffle prizes and more!
